A-Team Coaching Athletes

Best Running Coach

Established in 2013, A-Team Coaching has helped hundreds of athletes in chasing their athletic and endurance dreams. Guided by their own personal experience and private studies, David, Ann and Cuan draw from a wealth of knowledge to encourage and assist athletes in achieving their individual strength, nutrition, trail and road running goals. A-Team Coaching has chosen to remain independent and not to align with races as ‘Official Race Coach’ – thus do not offer generic cut-and-paste training. The focus is on high-quality running coaching, personalised training plans and YOUR individuality.

Local & International Run Coach

A-Team Coaching delivers high-performance running coaching to athletes worldwide through a powerful web-based platform that integrates seamlessly with an athlete’s GPS smart watch. Each day, the app provides tailored training instructions to follow along on the athlete’s watch, while capturing key physiological data, giving our coaches real-time insights into how each session was executed. Periodic benchmark testing of athletes is carried out to capture and update each athlete’s progress and to ensure consistent training loads are applied. This is a crucial step in performance management of athletes. The app is available for free download as part of the onboarding process.

While AI tools and generic programming apps are becoming increasingly popular, the value of a human coach remains irreplaceable. A-Team Coaching blends cutting-edge technology with the experience and intuition of expert coaches – ensuring every athlete receives personalised, future-ready support designed to help them perform at their best.

“AI is a tool. Running is you, your training, your mood, psychological state and more. It’s not an algorithm. A computer can only work with the numbers fed to it by wearable tech. The most important metrics, it cannot make sense of.”

Strength Training

One of the founding principles of A-Team Coaching is our focus on, and commitment to, run-focused strength training. Designed by Ann Ashworth, our coaching team has formulated a variety of do-at-home (or at the gym) strength programs for all levels of athlete. We believe that by following our strength training, athletes will not only be stronger and faster, but will also avoid injury and setbacks.

The following equipment is relied upon by the team when designing your strength training program: Pilates ball, Bosu ball, kettlebell, dumbbells, theraband (for use around knees / ankles / quads), step and yoga/pilates mat (for comfort).
